What DuraLabel Tough-Tested Quality Means for You
Safety starts with products you can count on—no matter the environment. That’s why DuraLabel has built our reputation on performance, delivering solutions engineered to withstand the harshest conditions and meet the highest standards.
DuraLabel is committed to providing safety solutions that are durable, reliable, and rigorously tested for compliance in the toughest conditions. The testing process is designed to ensure that every label, sign, and floor marking product can withstand tough environments, from extreme weather conditions to chemical exposure.
In-house testing allows DuraLabel to maintain strict quality control by evaluating each product under real-world conditions. This hands-on approach accelerates decision-making, drives innovation, and guarantees consistent, high-quality results.
DuraLabel’s in-house testing ensures each product meets the rigorous demands of real-world conditions and tests beyond the industry standards for the following:
Abrasion Testing
Weather Resistance Testing
Chemical Resistance Testing
Adhesion Testing
DuraLabel Tough-Tested Processes
DuraLabel conducts in-house testing to ensure labels withstand real-world conditions. Each test evaluates durability under specific environmental and operational stresses.
This test measures how well labels adhere to surfaces under stress.
PROCESS
EVALUATION
Apply the label to a surface, such as a stainless steel plate.
Use a shear strength tester to apply a specified weight.
Measure how long the adhesive holds before failure (minimum 15 minutes).
Labels must remain fully adhered without lifting or peeling.
Chemical Test
This test checks resistance to industrial chemicals, oils, solvents, and cleaners.
Apply the label to a stainless-steel surface.
Rub the label with a Q-tip saturated in chemicals
(e.g., isopropyl alcohol, acetone).
Submerge for 24 hours and assess for signs of degradation.
The label fails if it becomes illegible or loses adhesion.
Accelerated Weather Test
This test simulates long-term outdoor exposure to UV rays, moisture, & humidity.
Apply the label to a test surface.
Place the sample in a weathering chamber for 360 hours (equivalent to 1 year of outdoor exposure).
The label fails if it shows significant degradation or becomes illegible.
Abrasion Test
This test evaluates how well labels withstand repeated handling and contact with abrasive surfaces.
Attach the label to a surface.
Use a Taber Abraser to subject it to up to 50 cycles of abrasion, repeating if still legible.
Labels fail if the text or barcode becomes unreadable after abrasion.
